Ocean wind gets chilly if you stop moving for long. Swam in the Gualala river then camped with a bunch of other travelers near there last night.

The 101 wandered inland a bit. Today found split off for CA 1, back on the coast now. Stopped for an afternoon break at Mackerricher Park, never started again.

Plenty of long climbs today (and then dropping back to sea level). I’m into the redwoods now which are fantastic! Watched many elk. Stopped now near Big Lagoon.

Today was nice. Lots of pretty beaches. Met many other bike travelers on this route, leapfrogged a bit. About an hour into California, five months from home

Stormy day, didn’t get too far. Visited the Cape Blanco lighthouse, on the westernmost point of Oregon, where the wind was very strong. Now at Humbug Mountain.
